Scott says that if democrats make Nancy Pelosi the new Speaker of the House they will be making a mistake. Pelosi may know how to get things done but she is also the face of what is wrong with the democratic party. She is a nationally unpopular, liberal, big government machine dinosaur: exactly the kind of democrat that lost to Trump 2 years ago. Scott says that democrats need new faces and new ideas, or at least new approaches. In short, they should be going forward, not backwards.

Scott says that Donald Trump believes the job of the media is to cover him, not report on him.

Scott suspects that the chief reason Trump does not want his tax returns released is not due shady dealings on his part. It is because they would reveal that he is neither as rich or as good a businessman as he likes to boast. If we have learned anything about Trump it is that for him, image is everything and he will fight to the last ditch to protect it.

Scott has observed that it is often useless to appeal to Trump's reason. If you want to get anywhere with him you have to appeal to his vanity. Those that do wind up in his graces. Those that refuse to risk his wrath.

Scott says that democrats like Nancy Pelosi are the reason Trump won the election. If they want to win the White House they need to go forward, not backward. That means finding new leaders and new ideas. There are millions of Americans who hate Trump but hate democrats like Pelosi more. Democrats need those voters. They won't get them by relying on liberal dinosaurs like Pelosi.

Scott says that all good politicians keep a box of principles in their office for when they need one.

Scott says that the threat to US elections and democracy in general is not fake facebook pages, or foreign internet bots and trolls. The true threat is the ignorance and gullibility of American voters. No laws or regulations can fix that. The only thing that can be done is to educate them or, failing that, build a wall around them and try to keep people who would take advantage of them out.
